Product Description: To ensure accurate readings, the thermometer must be shaken down to at least 96.8 °F before each use. In colder conditions, all the liquid will gather in the bulb, indicating room temperature. Upon initial use, the thermometer can be used without shaking, but a quick reset (shake) is recommended before subsequent uses. Featuring a stop feature in the tube, this thermometer allows you to easily lock in the displayed temperature data. While the temperature may rise on its own, it will not decrease automatically; a gentle shake (tip down) is necessary for resetting. Adjust the viewing angle by rotating the thermometer slightly, typically 3 to 5 degrees, for optimal readability of the temperature display. Avoid exposing the thermometer to high temperatures, such as hot water, as this can damage the device beyond its operating range. Similarly, refraining from placing it in cold environments like the refrigerator or cold water is advised. In the event that the liquid needs to be reset, a vigorous shake of the thermometer is the only recommended method.
